SUMMARY:THROUGH THE LONG WINTER- Resilience\, Mental Wellness & Looking Out for Each Other in Construction
DESCRIPTION:Winter in Montana brings more than cold temperatures and shorter days. For construction workers\, the holiday season and winter months can bring seasonal layoffs\, financial pressures\, isolation\, fatigue\, and personal challenges that don't disappear when we show up for work. How do we recognize when the stress is building? What can we do to stay mentally and emotionally healthy? And how do we help a coworker who may be struggling? Join Craig Crawford\, Training Director for the Montana Contractors Association and nationally recognized speaker on leadership and resilience\, for an engaging\, interactive workshop focused on navigating the challenges of winter and the holiday season. Through personal stories\, practical tools\, partner exercises\, and construction-specific discussions\, participants will explore: Recognizing stress\, burnout\, and personal warning signs. Building resilience without simply pretending everything is okay. Managing isolation\, financial uncertainty\, and holiday pressures. Recognizing when a coworker may need support. Having conversations that could make a meaningful difference. Developing a personal plan for getting through difficult stretches. This isn't a lecture about being tougher. It's a practical conversation about taking care of ourselves\, looking out for the people beside us\, and building a construction industry where asking for help is a sign of strength. Who should attend: Construction workers\, apprentices\, foremen\, supervisors\, project managers\, safety professionals\, and company leaders. When: December 16\, 2026\, Helena\, MT Duration: 3 hours\, including a break Presented by: Craig Crawford\, Montana Contractors Association Because nobody should have to get through the long winter alone.\nWe will be meeting at Missouri River Brewing.
